Hello, everyone! Paloma here. I’m currently a senior at Texas Christian University studying Marketing in the Neeley School of Business. I work with Melissa as a digital marketing and social media intern, and I’m back ‘ghost writing’ for this week. Back in December, I wrote an article about Christmas Gifts for the College Girl, but this week, I’ll be sharing the Valentine’s Day Roundup of gift and product ideas ranging from fashion to home pieces.
Valentine’s Day is a special holiday to me. I am the youngest of four children, and my mother always went above and beyond for holidays. I remember our home being decorated for Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and of course, Valentine’s Day! Every holiday, my mother hosted fun traditions and activities that kept us spirited and occupied as a tiny team of children growing up. Each year for Valentine’s Day, my mother would create a scavenger hunt throughout our home, with 14 hints and 14 gifts to be found. The scavenger hunt began on the night of February 13th, where we would have 13 hand-written riddles for small gifts/toys to be found around the house. Then, when we woke up on February 14th, each of our designated spots at the kitchen table had the coveted 14th gift waiting for us, accompanied by a yummy breakfast to share before going to school for the day.
I’m so excited to share some Valentine’s Day products with you all, and hopefully inspire you to take part in such a fun and whole-hearted holiday.
First, to start off with clothes: Lou & Grey has adorable pieces all year long, but their Valentine-inspired items are so cute this year! This Colorful Heart SweatSet is perfect loungewear for the holiday, but also practical for the other 11 months of the year. The contrast of red and orange hearts in this Heart Sweater is a great transition piece to take you into Spring. If you are looking for a more neutral option, this Grey Heart Printed Sweater is a great option! If you’re looking for an excuse for some new pajamas, these Roller Rabbit Pajamas are a fun option to gift to yourself!
On to the fun stuff: jewelry and accessories! Personally, I am a sucker for jewelry, and I love buying pieces that are a combination of trendy and classic to ensure long lasting and frequent wear. These Kendra Scott Heart Hoop Earrings are absolutely adorable for the season, but still classic and dainty enough to wear any other time of year. I’m loving Baublebar Rings to give you an affordable, colorful glam look. I’m obsessed with hair accessories at the moment, and these Anthropologie Claw Clips and Heart Studded Headband will do the trick as a great gift for yourself or someone else!
Lastly, home décor items. While I currently live in an off-campus house with four roommates, I often dream about decorating my future home for holidays like Valentine’s Day! These Williams Sonoma Measuring Cups are precious, and come with a matching Mug and Dish Collection! This Heart Bundt Pan reminds me of my grandmother’s coffee cake recipe, which is always made in a round bundt pan (and will forever be my favorite form of birthday cake). Finally, I’m a huge fan of this Heart Sheet Set from Pottery Barn. These crisp cotton sheets are amazing quality. Incorporating festive bedsheets is a simple way to add a special touch to make holidays feel more special, but can be used year-round!
All of these items are linked directly in the article and will also be available to shop on LikeToKnowIt.
