Hospitality is in my DNA. I founded Home with a Twist, a daughter’s twist on her mother’s traditions, in memory of my mother to celebrate her life and the gifts she shared with me. Mother loved to celebrate life’s occasions – big and small. She taught me how to prepare fabulous food, entertain guests with style and design a traditional home with a pop of color and a splash of animal print. Share my fondness of blending Mother’s mid-century style with a modern spin.

Comment HOST and I`ll send you my Summer Entertaining Guide. 🍅
In my early hosting years, Pinterest drove my decisions. A menu unfamiliar to me. I was hosting with perfection as the goal - NOT INTENTION.
But by the time my guests arrived, I was too tired to truly enjoy myself and feel relaxed.
During a recent visit to the @santafefarmersmarket we planned the meal around the smells and sights of summer - heirloom tomatoes, homemade chicken pot pies, and garden salad.
Hosting isn`t about the perfect plan. It`s about being present to enjoy the planning.
What`s one thing you`ve stopped stressing over when you have people over?

Happy Father`s Day Mr. Twist! He always supports me in all my adventures, holds the camera when I say, "record me standing like this", and never complains when when I say, "Honey, let`s hang wallpaper today!"
When I asked him 20 years ago if he`d be okay letting my parents live with us, his first response was, "let`s do it!" He was their caregiver and son, never wavering his love and support for me and them.
He was made to be a dad to @phoebeaustinweeks. Loving, caring, and intention, kind and thoughtful are the best ways to describe him!
I am so thankful for you!
We spend so much of our lives trying to get everything just right. The house cleaned. The meal perfected. The details carefully planned. We tell ourselves we`ll relax once everything is finished.
But the people we love rarely remember whether the napkins matched or if dinner was served exactly on time.
They remember whether we looked up from our to-do list and listened. They remember if we lingered at the table. They remember how we made them feel.
Maybe this week is an invitation to loosen our grip on perfection and lean into presence. To sit a little longer. To put down our phones. To ask one more question. To savor an ordinary moment.
Because a perfect home is quickly forgotten.
But being fully present with someone? That`s the kind of love people carry with them for years.💛
For the last few months, I`ve been quietly dreaming up something new.
Something slower. Something personal.
Something that happens around a table, with a cup of coffee in hand and conversations that leave you feeling inspired.
If you`ve ever wished for someone to help you create a more welcoming home, host with confidence, or simply rediscover the joy of gathering, I think you`re going to love what`s coming.
It`s called Cottage Coaching… and it`s almost ready.
Think cozy conversations, practical ideas, encouragement, and a little bit of magic that happens when women gather together.
More details soon. 🏡✨
Pull up a chair. There`s a place waiting for you at the table.
Comment COTTAGE and I`ll send you a link to get on my Founding Circle list.♥️
