Growing up, I remember the nibbles my mother would prepare for little get-togethers she and Daddy would host in their living room. They usually included a cheese ball rolled in chopped pecans with crackers, cocktail weiners in barbecue sauce (Daddy loved these so much), a relish tray of olives, pickles, green onions, and sausage balls. Her sausage balls were made with grated cheese and Bisquick, a pantry staple we all had for quick pancake weekends. This new recipe has a twist—Red Lobster Cheddar Biscuit Mix and pimento cheese!
The recipe makes a lot, so you can easily freeze the uncooked balls and heat them when ready to serve. These not only make a hearty cocktail party food, but they would be perfect on Christmas morning for a little something to have while you open presents or sip coffee.

Hospitality is in my DNA. I founded Home with a Twist, a daughter’s twist on her mother’s traditions, in memory of my mother to celebrate her life and the gifts she shared with me. Mother loved to celebrate life’s occasions – big and small.
