Sometimes the most memorable getaways are the ones just minutes from home but feel worlds away once you arrive. That was precisely the case with our recent overnight escape to the Omni Fort Worth Hotel. This festive, Southern-charmed retreat reminded me why gracious hospitality is Fort Worth’s signature style.
A Welcome Fit for a Texas Holiday
The moment we stepped through the doors, we were wrapped in warmth—figuratively by the staff and literally by a complimentary cup of Dubai hot chocolate, rich and aromatic with just a hint of spice. A row of Stetsons greeted guests, and Mr. Twist was quickly treated to a complimentary boot shine, the small but meaningful gesture that blends refinement with cowboy charm.
A Room with a View
Our room felt like a sanctuary: beautifully appointed, serene, and offering a picture-perfect view of the Fort Worth Water Garden. Waiting inside was the most delightful fall-themed charcuterie board featuring spice cake, pumpkin pie, sweet potato chips, truffles, and macarons. It was as if autumn delivered its own welcome basket.
Plush white robes invited us to unwind, and the bath that followed was pure luxury with Klur clary sage and lavender products—an ideal way to ease into the evening.
Cocktails with Holiday Spark
Before dinner, we visited Blitzen’s Bar, a festive holiday lounge that feels lifted from the pages of a storybook. Truly, the only thing missing was the Claus power couple themselves. I enjoyed the Va Va Vixen, a sparkling cocktail created by Julie Reiner of Netflix’s Drink Masters, while Mr. Twist sipped an Islay Scotch, smoky and smooth.
Dinner at Bob’s Chophouse
Dinner was a feast at Bob’s Chophouse, the hotel’s premier dining spot. Perfectly cooked steaks, crisp salads, rich sides, and attentive service made it a meal worth lingering over. Dining out here feels like an experience, not just a reservation.
A Cozy Ending by the Fire
Afterward, we returned to the lobby for hot cocoa by the fire beneath a stunning holiday tree. Children and adults alike admired the hotel’s charming miniature train display showcasing Fort Worth’s past, present, and future. It was the kind of cozy moment that makes the season feel magical.
A Holiday Staycation to Savor
Our stay at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel was a beautiful reminder that luxury and relaxation don’t always require a long trip. Festive, welcoming, and filled with thoughtful touches, it’s an ideal retreat for anyone hoping to add a little sparkle to their holiday season. A magical escape right here in Fort Worth—and a must for anyone wanting to savor the joys of the season.

Hospitality is in my DNA. I founded Home with a Twist, a daughter’s twist on her mother’s traditions, in memory of my mother to celebrate her life and the gifts she shared with me. Mother loved to celebrate life’s occasions – big and small.
