Introducing The Sentimental Twist Podcast Airing June 19

There’s a special kind of magic that happens when two friends sit down to chat—the kind of conversation that starts with decorating a shelf and ends with sharing a treasured family recipe. That’s precisely the heart behind my newest adventure: The Sentimental Twist...
She taught me how to prepare fabulous food, entertain guests with style and design a traditional home with a pop of color and a splash of animal print. Share my fondness of blending Mother’s mid-century style with a modern spin.

✨✨ If I could sit beside that little girl — hair in pigtails, heart full of big dreams — I’d whisper the truths it took years to learn.
That she was already loved. That the quiet strength of the women before her lived in her bones. The table where she played, hosted tea parties, and make-believe at would one day hold stories, laughter, and legacy.
This is a love letter to her — the little girl I was, the woman I became, and the legacy I’m still living out. We are an unfinished portrait. Every day, adding new textures, layers, and beauty.
Which one of these sentiments would your younger self need to hear?

Y`all, we could not stop laughing during this segment on our podcast - The Sentimental Twist @thesentimentaltwistpodcast
My co-host Brittany @brittanyshepard and I were exchanging vintage recipes from the 70s. This recipe was for Super Supper Salad Loaf (hop over to my stories to see it)! There`s something about gelatin & mashed peas stuffed in a hollowed out bologna loaf that just says, "No, thank you?" 🤣🤣
We have so much fun every week sharing our love for sentimental spaces and gracious southern hospitality. Comment PODCAST, and I`ll send the link to listen or watch.
Episode six is live now!

🌻🌻This table was set with more than plates and napkins—it was set with memories.
I began thinking about the times we spent at my parent`s farm. Green pastures filled with Texas wildflowers covering acres like a blanket. And, the sunsets were worthy of a painting. But, mostly, I remember the family meals. Nothing fancy but oh, so fulfilling.
I set this table as a memory. From vintage dishes I`ve collected to Daddy`s favorite sunflowers picked fresh from my garden, every layer tells a little piece of my story. I paired denim placemats with eyelet napkins, bamboo flatware with vintage Metlox poppy field daisy plates, and sprinkled in a few sentimental touches—like hand-designed gingham placecards and a blue and white hostess set I adore.
It`s proof that your table doesn’t need to be perfect—it just needs to feel like you.
A little old, a little new, and a whole lot of love.

Did your mother give you cooking or hosting advice? My mother`s rule was to never serve a new dish unless you knew for sure the results would be a success. Well, I didn`t follow her advice - and guess what? It`s a winner!
I love making vintage recipes and Helen Corbitt`s Cold Lemon Souffle was perfect - fresh, lemony, airy yet rich. I served it with a chicken casserole and mint watermelon with lime.
It was the perfect lunch trio and so satisfying we didn`t even want dessert.
