Welcome to part two of my gift guide (you can read part one here). Today, I will be sharing ideas for the friend that loves iced tea and coffee. First, the Takeya Iced Tea Maker. For years I relied on my trusty Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Maker. The machine worked fine,...
Thirty four days and counting until Christmas. I’ve got a great list of ideas to share with you for gifts – at least I would love these under my tree! Gift One: The Google Hub. I love my Hub. I am team Google, so everything in my house is compatible...
I’m planning my Thanksgiving menu and since I am working more hours this year, I know that I won’t have as much time to cook. So big news — I’ve hired out my sides and pies! This is big because not only do I love to cook, but I love my...
There are so many different ways to tell your spouse or child you love them. But instead of giving them the typical card, consider creating an entire book telling them all the ways you love them—from A to Z. Not only does it force you to be really creative, but it...
Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday. Period. I love the food and the focus on family. I’ve got lots of experience hosting Thanksgiving meals from watching Mother do it with ease, grace, and in heels, both at home and on our farm back in the day. This...
I love everything about fall — the cooler weather, decorating the house with autumnal colors, the smell of cinnamon, pumpkin spice lattes and the list goes on. Which makes me think of Mother. Every season, especially in the summer, she would have me write a...
Hospitality is in my DNA. I founded Home with a Twist, a daughter’s twist on her mother’s traditions, in memory of my mother to celebrate her life and the gifts she shared with me. Mother loved to celebrate life’s occasions – big and small.
She taught me how to prepare fabulous food, entertain guests with style and design a traditional home with a pop of color and a splash of animal print. Share my fondness of blending Mother’s mid-century style with a modern spin.
Gorgeous day spent putting my hands in dirt, removing the old and planting the new. Hearing the birds sing and knowing they are doing the same to prepare nests for their tiny eggs. I can`t wait to see what blooms!
I`ve got several YouTube videos on how to use galvanized tubs for plants and vegetables if you`re interested in learning. Comment GARDEN, and I`ll send you the link to my channel.
Our favorite spring activity in Fort Worth is the annual Butterflies in the Garden exhibit in the Rainforest Conservatory at the Fort Worth Botanical Garden.
The seasonal event features a diverse collection of exotic butterflies from around the world. It truly is magical to walk among these beautiful creatures and be up so close to see their coloring!
Visit the @fortworthbotanicgarden to learn more and purchase your tickets - which includes access to the grounds - before the exhibit ends April 14.
My sister and her friend set us up on a blind date. He left a few messages saying he`d like to meet, and I ignored them because I was seeing someone else. But my sister said I was being rude and needed to call him back.
Reluctantly, I did call him, and I told him that I wasn`t interested, but I`d be his friend and help him make a love connection with someone else, like a networking opportunity.
Since it wasn`t technically a "date," he showed up dressed like a lumber jack. He wasn`t too thrilled about my three cats looking him over. After dinner, when he dropped me off, he almost ran over me with his car. He (much later) told me he thought I was high maintenance, and I thought he was a seriel killer because his car was way too clean.
Needless to say, about a month later, I changed my mind, dumped the guy I was seeing, and fell in love with Mr. Twist. After my very sad and lonely first marriage, Mr. Twist was the gift my heart and soul needed.
We`ll celebrate 28 years of marriage in May, and it`s been the best years of my life.
