If 2020 taught me anything about fashion….it was the importance of sticking with the basics! So, after reading a few style influencer’s blogs and seeing pictures of their Walmart hauls, I decided to give it a try.

Actually, this was my first time ordering clothes online from Walmart. I ordered four items: a plaid “shacket”, ankle boots, long sleeve t-shirts set, and a pair of leggings….all basics. If you’ve been reading my weekly articles, you know how much I love styling on a budget. And who does frugal better than Walmart? Nobody…right?
So I’m going to give you a break-down of each item I ordered. Let’s start with the plaid “shacket”….a new trend that’s a combination shirt and jacket. Walmart offers it in eight vibrant plaid colors, and I opted for the pink plaid. Since it was oversized, I went down a size and ordered a small….perfectly complements my gray jeans and black boots. I’m also loving their plaid khaki shacket featured with white jeans…great for now and early spring.

I’ve been eyeing tan/taupe boots for a while…so I ordered a pair of ankle boots by Time and Tru, a Walmart brand. They look great with light blue jeans and a plaid blazer. For a preppy vibe, wear them with jeans, a sweater, a navy vest, and a plaid scarf. If you’re wanting a higher heel, Time & Tru’s lace-up tan booties or Scoop’s western booties are also good options….so cute paired with jeans and an animal print sweater.
Speaking of basics, I live in leggings, pullovers, and puffers most of the time…because staying home and taking walks are pretty much my lifestyle these days. I’ve been on the look-out for a comfy long-sleeved t-shirt to wear under a pullover. Problem solved with a 2-pack black and a white set by Time & Tru. I pair a tee with printed leggings by Avia topped off with a packable puffer….a great addition to my fitness style. Anyone up for a walk to Clearfork?
