Sometimes I like to take a “neutral” position when it comes to fashion. From tans to khakis….neutral hues are the perfect in-between seasonal look and transition so well into summertime!
Interested in creating the ultimate spring/summer capsule wardrobe? Then neutral is the way to go. Start with a tan blazer, add white pants or jeans, and top off with an on-trend wicker or wooden bag. Hmmm….looks like you have an ultra-chic look! Wearing neutral hues will also give your style an expensive look. So think about draping a camel blazer over a white t-shirt and white crops.
Mixing textures like crochet, fringe, linen, raffia, and straw always keep things interesting and also gives a chic vibe. Speaking of chic, Cult Gaia offers a variety of wooden and beaded handbags. Their Coco wooden tote is one of my new favs! And their beaded bags lined in linen are summertime perfection!
I had a sneaky little feeling last summer that rattan would be making a fierce comeback. So I purchased a pair of St. Agni rattan slides trimmed in black. My intuition was correct, and now I’m seriously eyeing a few of the rattan totes on our Pinterest board. In the late 60s, my mom and grandmother taught me how to crochet! So when I saw Oscar de la Renta’s 2019 crochet collection strut down the runway…it was a walk down memory lane for me! BTW….who can still crochet a granny square?
Shoes are another way to incorporate neutral colors into a sophisticated wardrobe. We think a pair of Tory Burch color block espadrilles are ideal for hanging out on Joe T’s patio. Also, Loeffle Randall’s woven leather mules are so chic. Looking for a steal? Amazon Fashion has an amazing copy of Golden Goose sneakers with a major savings…..$36 vs. $300!
Show me a pair of paper bag or belted pants, and I’ll show you a super cool and relaxed summer-look. A Pinterest look I adore pairs a tan short-sleeve shirt with crops, a long belt, and a wicker bag. Another idea is to wear a scarf as a belt with your paper bag pants…all great looks for your everyday neutral style!
Looking for a summer style that will take you from church to happy hour? A khaki skirt is the answer! A stylish church-look on our board features a khaki skirt with a short-sleeve ruffled black top and a pair of heels. And it’s so easy to style it casually with a pair of slides or sandals. For happy hour, wear your tan skirt with an off the shoulder top! Don’t you just love how making just a few changes can give you so many options?
So what position is your style taking this summer? From casual to luxe, a neutral look will definitely give you a luxe feel!
