So I’m putting this out there…I’m finding it challenging to write about what to wear during the 2020 winter holidays. That being said…I’m pretty sure I have a severe case of the “holiday hang-ups”. Is anyone else suffering from this?
What are you doing to get into the holiday spirit? At my house, we decided to stick with the basics…decorate the house…watch Christmas movies…cook and eat comfort food…and we started a new family tradition…“Santa Zooms”!
To help get us in the Christmas frame of mind, our first plan of action was to decorate the house. Even though I didn’t go to the woods to cut down a tree, there’s nothing more “holiday-ish” than a plaid flannel lumberjack shirt….perfect for tree trimming! Lucky for all of us, plaid shirts and jackets are trending big time. Be sure to “check out” our amazing selection from LL Bean and Amazon on Pinterest!
Once the house was decorated, we were ready to binge-watch some of our favorite Christmas movies…White Christmas, Rudolph, and A Christmas Story…just to name a few! And don’t you think a green Grinch sweatshirt is perfect for watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas? So what pairs well with popcorn and Diet Coke? That would be sweats. Did you know matching sweat-sets are a thing? From TJ Maxx to Dillard’s, you’ll look stylish…even when you’re just “hanging out”!
I’m very fortunate to have men in my family who love to cook. From my son’s firecracker chicken to my husband’s pecan pie with a homemade crust…there’s nothing like comfort food to lift my spirit! And speaking of comfort, I always have luck finding cute pajama pants at TJ Maxx….so easy to top off with a fun Christmas sweatshirt. And if you’re a Hallmark Christmas movie junkie….you’ll definitely need/want a Hallmark movie watching sweater.
So, “Santa Zooms” are something I actually came up with! I bought Santa hats for everyone in my family to wear each time we zoom in December. Like almost everything else I’ve purchased this year, I ordered our hats from Amazon. And with the little ones, hearing jingle bells in the background adds extra excitement!
Oh my goodness…is it just me, or is it really “beginning to look a lot like Christmas”?
