From pastels and bright hues to black and white….there’s nothing that looks as cool and stylish as dressed up denim!
Not ready to stop wearing your black jeans? No problem….because they look great in the spring and summer too. An easy way to achieve a dressed up look is with black cropped jeans, a white blouse with statement sleeves, a black bucket bag, and two-tone block heels. One of my all-time Pinterest favorites is a pair of black skinny jeans worn with a white blouse with a big bow tied at the waist and an adorable wooden bag. “Ooh la la”…all of this is starting to sound a little French!
Speaking of the French, a Chanel inspired tweed jacket worn with jeans is a sophisticated way to dress up your denim. A look we love is a pair of jeans worn with a belted tweed jacket….a great way to flatter any figure. Another Chanel inspired outfit is a tweed jacket worn with a pretty white blouse with pleated cuffs, distressed jeans, and nude pumps.
If you are not into waist length jackets, think about wearing a long tweed jacket instead. I’m loving two long grey and black tweed jackets on our board. One is paired with blingy heels and the other is shown with animal print sneakers. To give them that Coco Chanel look, they pinned a CC brooch to the jackets. And even if you do not own a CC brooch, any new or vintage brooch will look fabulous pinned on your tweed jacket.
Two great springtime hues are a navy and gray blazer worn with denim. My Pinterest board favorite is the gray blazer paired with blue denim culottes, a printed white t-shirt, and a red handbag. Navy blue made a big comeback last year. So think about wearing a navy blazer with light blue jeans, a white blouse, and for a pop of color, tie a scarf around your wrist, neck or handbag.
Striped tops with statement sleeves are another great way to dazzle your denim. We are crazy about Sarah Jessica Parker’s look…a stunning Johanna Ortiz statement top and her own fabulous shoe selection! An ensemble that’s perfect for spring and summer is a striped off-the-shoulder sweater worn with jeans and heels. Two fabulous looks for a dressed-up denim date night!
Kimonos are a great light weight cover-up that will add glamour to your spring denim. From embroidered to florals, these flowy wraps add drama to a plain t-shirt and jeans outfit. Ruffles are one of the biggest trends this season and a cute pair of black ruffled jeans paired with a silk floral kimono is fun, festive and a great look for now and this summer. We are also loving a green floral kimono, light blue jeans, tee, black YSL bag, and pink tassel-tied sandals. Stylish and glamorous!
Lace blouses and wraps are the ultimate when it comes to dressing up denim. A lace top worn under a sweater or blazer adds a ladylike touch to a transitional spring style…and don’t forget to show-off the cute cuffs! A look that will definitely put you in a springtime mood is lace tops with ruffles and bell sleeves. Floor dusting wraps come in a lace version as well. From wraps to vests, this lacy trend will give your denim a dressy feminine flair.
Who knew there were so many stylish ways to dress up your denim? With springtime here and summer approaching, looks like your denim will be ready for some fun in the sun!
