Are you desperately in need of a change of scenery?  Well, here’s my solution…go to Broken Bow, Oklahoma and pack some cute outfits!  I’m serious!

That being said, we recently took a four day trip to Broken Bow, which we now refer to as “our new Colorado”.  Broken Bow is an awesome travel destination with beautiful vacation homes to rent, hiking trails, lake activities…and hot tubs!!!  I would describe our beautiful Airbnb rental as rustic-modern….be sure to take a look at our Pinterest photos of the house and views from hiking trails.

So “what would Holley wear” for a casual weekend getaway?  All summer, I’ve been crushing on khaki and white combos….perfect for now and early fall.  With a pair of white jeans or crops, all you need to add is a khaki shirt and sandals….and don’t forget to take a wicker tote or handbag.

Just so you know….wicker bags and totes are not only for summer, so don’t put yours away quite yet.  For a luxe vibe, a Lowe’s wicker tote will compliment anything from jeans and shorts to dresses.  And don’t you think a tote paired with a floral maxi looks “so French”…even in Oklahoma?  For a less expensive version, my personal pick is a Mango wicker tote.

With so many amazing trails…hiking opportunities are endless in Broken Bow.  So of course, you will want to pack a few hiking outfits.  My go-to for hiking shorts is LL Bean.  To give them a stylish vibe…add a printed t-shirt from Chicmony paired with Teva sandals.  If you are fortunate enough to hike in a cooler climate, our Pinterest board features a 2020 list of the best hiking pants.

After a few hours of hiking, we were ready to take a dip in the hot tub.  Just like an episode from The Bachelor, hot tubs are a big deal in Broken Bow…but without all the drama.  Anthropologie has a great selection of cover-ups, and one of their classic shirtdresses is perfect for hot tub hanging!  BTW….who remembers Eddie Murphy’s hot tub episode on SNL?  “Good Gawd…it’s hot!”

So who knew?  It sounds like a change of scenery and cute outfits is exactly what we all need.  And hot tubs…of course!
