We think dressing for the 4th of July can be tricky.  You don’t want to look like a walking flag, yet you may want a patriotic-festive look.  So we’ve put together some outfits on our Pinterest board that feature our country’s colors in a fun and stylish way.  And the good news….these are looks that you can wear all summer!

What says “all American” more than stripes?  From dresses to skirts, let’s talk about how to incorporate this fun pattern in your everyday summer style. A classic July 4th outfit is a blue and white striped skirt, white blouse and an adorable straw hat.  Gal Meets Glam blogger and her bestie show off their “all American” style wearing adorable striped sundresses while entertaining friends.  The Lush List blogger shares her patriotic hospitality in an adorable red striped dress.

There are so many fun striped summer tops on our Pinterest board.  One of our favorites is the starry, striped off-the-shoulder top from Anthropology. Wear it with jeans, shorts or a skirt, and you’re ready for a fun celebration. Wanting to make a statement?  Then think about wearing a gorgeous top like the one from IBU’s Ali McGraw collection….just add white jeans and a statement piece of jewelry.

Striped handbags and shoes are another way to add flair to a festive 4th ensemble.  So…who loves rick-rack?  We do, and we are major crushing on the ruffle slides trimmed in striped rick-rack from Tuckernuck.  Top Shop’s striped espadrilles pair well with summer dresses, skirts and jeans. Mark and Graham offer a rattan and navy striped canvas circle hand bag in white and brown.  Trust me on this one….it will be the best $49 fashion investment you make this summer!

Peasant tops are a summer essential, so think about wearing one to a July 4th concert or picnic. The angular two-toned blue striped peasant top with red embroidery and tassels from Anthropology will transition from an afternoon picnic to a night of firework watching.  And their blue embroidered peasant top gives a romantic vibe to this bohemian style. A long embroidered tunic top can work three ways…as a top, a dress and as a swim suit cover up….a “must pack” for your summer vacation.

Are you planning to attend a Ranger’s game this summer?  A Ranger’s t-shirt is definitely “all American”. To add some flair, a pair of red fringed earrings from Madewell will up your style game.  A scarf with tassels is always a bonus, and patriotic sunshades are a necessity for a sunny day at the ballpark. Sounds like a “grand slam” to me!

Maybe you are planning a beach vacation for the 4th?  The nautical bag on our Pinterest board would be perfect for a seaside picnic….anchors away! Summer shorts or white jeans worn with a blue checked shirt, red wicker bag and white sandals is the perfect outfit for a sea shell hunting expedition. For a fun family dinner at the local crab shack, red culottes and sneakers will keep you stylishly comfortable. A “shore thing” to give your outfit a pop is the Kate Spade red crab handbag.  So…who wants to take a walk on the beach?

No matter how you plan to celebrate our country’s Independence Day or any fun summer activity, just know….a cute red, white and blue outfit will add a stylish spark to your celebration!
