Shopping for your Thanksgiving outfit? You’ve come to the right place!  Since I am doing the cooking, I always want an outfit that’s cute and comfortable. I am a fan of sweaters with sayings, collecting several over the years. I have my eye on two here Thankful and Wine & Cheese. I plan to wear the thankful sweater with jeans, and if the day is cool, I might layer it over a crisp white button-down shirt.  The wine & cheese sweater will be darling to meet friends over the weekend. I may even wear it for a “jar” cuterie class I am teaching for the Ronald McDonald House this week.

If your gathering is more dressy, but you want to look chic yet comfortable – leggings are perfect. I love the Talbots black leggings with the jeweled-button detail on the ankle. The leopard print mock neck top from Ann Taylor will pair perfectly with the pants.  Another option is the houndstooth leggings with the shimmer tie-waist sweatshirt.  The great thing about all these looks is you can put on a pair of sneakers for an after-dinner walk.

Speaking of after-dinner walks, I just returned from our annual pilgrimage to Ogunquit, Maine. I knew the weather would be chilly, but I didn’t want to wear or pack a bulky coat on the plane. I found this quilted coat from Talbots, and it is my new superhero. It kept me warm, dry, and looking chic. I love quilt coats, but they can look bulky, and this was slimming and lightweight. The lightweight part is key because I am hormonal, and when those puffs of heat come my way, the last thing I need is a bulky, hot coat.  I folded it like a shirt and tucked it into the bottom of my suitcase, and it traveled beautifully. You know I love animal print – so I am crushing over their animal print waterproof raincoat.  It stashes away in its matching bag! The part I think you’ll love most is that the outer fabric and lining are 100% recycled polyester made using recycled plastic bottles. The relaxed, longline coat is perfect for layering and comes packed with lots of stylish features such as an adjustable hood with a storm peak to keep the wind and rain at bay, elasticated cuffs, and luxury trims.

I am so glad I packed my pair of bee rain boots from Joules. We experienced our first Nor’easter while we were in Ogunquit. Wow, was it cold, windy, and rainy! Fun fact, I picked up this pair of boots when I made my first visit to Maine in 2017. I loved the comfortable fit so much that I ordered a pair of their faux fur-lined boots for snowy, cold days in Texas. If you need a pair of boots that look stylish for going to and from the office or out to dinner – then these Joules rainboots with detachable tassels will be your new best friend. The equestrian-inspired style features a flattering asymmetric topline and a full-length zip making it truly effortless to pull them on and off. Built on their water-dispersing outsole with a signature hand-drawn lining, they come with color-pop tasseled zip pulls. Use code NEW20 when you place your first order on Joules.

Don’t let a little rain or cold stop you from looking and feeling chic!
