I missed my reading community when I put our book club on hiatus in March 2022 so I could accept my dream job as an Innkeeper in beautiful Ogunquit, Maine. I am happy to say – we are bringing the book club back this May! I have already decided on all the fun, beach reads we will enjoy from May through September. And, I’ve even lined up the authors for the first two books to join us virtually!
To learn more about the book club – watch my YouTube video here, and you can read more about the club’s history including an FAQ here.
This summer we are reading:
Love and Saffron by Kim Hay who will join us on May 11
The Bodyguard by Katherine Center (we read Things you Save in a Fire) will join us on June 7.
The Invisible Husband of Frick Island by Colleen Oakley
The Breakup Book Club by Wendy Wax
Nora Goes Off Script by Anabel Monaghan
I am hopeful we can secure the rest of the authors as well!
To join my book club visit Book Movement – our online book club platform – here. Once you are a member you will have access to our book club page with the list of all the books and dates of our meetings. We will meet virtually through Google Meets which does NOT require an app. PLEASE NOTE: The start time of 8 p.m. is EASTERN time since I am joining you from Maine. Since most of our members are in central time you will join the call at 7 p.m.
If you’ve been an “OG” member you know we’ve typically used Zoom for our meetings. I am now using Google Meet because it doesn’t require an app and it also allows me to LIVE stream our meeting on my Home with a Twist YouTube page affording the opportunity to watch the meeting at a later date or join directly from YouTube.
I can’t wait to see you in May and throughout the summer. I hope to also give you glimpses of The Blue Shutters Inn property during our meetings. Better yet, come see me! You can book your stay here. Happy reading!
The books you’ve selected look like fun!!
Thank you! I am excited to meet the authors. Such talents!
Melissa,
I am looking forward to these summer reads. Count me in.

Wonderful! So happy to you join us!
I’ve read all except Invisible Husband and loved every last one; even the ones whose plots seemed too rom-com were wonderful, smart reads.
I do miss a good thriller though!
Nothing like a thriller page turner. I am so happy to be back with our community reading. I hope you can join us sometime.
