A Ploughman’s Lunch
Jul 7, 2016 | (Small Bites and Snacks)
When we get the chance to travel, especially in Europe, I am always intrigued how different the food is presented. In the U.S. we are accustomed to our plates overflowing with tons of food — meat, potato, vegetables, bread, and dessert. When we traveled to...
Easy, easy appetizer for spring

I helped host a bridal shower for a co-worker recently. When I saw a recipe for Kale and Goat Cheese Empanadas, I knew she would love them. They are super easy to make and very yummy. Check out the latest issue of Oprah magazine for this and other recipes,...
She taught me how to prepare fabulous food, entertain guests with style and design a traditional home with a pop of color and a splash of animal print. Share my fondness of blending Mother’s mid-century style with a modern spin.

Visiting the @thedallasarboretum is a must this spring!
The largest annual floral festival in the Southwest, Dallas Blooms showcases breathtaking spring color alongside captivating sculptures by renowned artist Seward Johnson. You`ll see masses of tulips, daffodils, and hyacinth everywhere!
We enjoyed a beautiful and sumptuous three course tea in the DeGolyer Tea Room, which also includes parking and garden admission.
The weather was spectacular and the perfect day for a play date with Mr. Twist. Make your online reservation today!

I found this recipe for Yellow Birthday Cake with Milk Chocolate Frosting several years ago. It tastes just like an old-fashioned cake your grandmother would serve with an ice cold glass of milk!
It`s not hard to bake from scratch. Honestly! And your efforts will be worth the effort when you see that first slice hit the plate! You deserve the bragging right.
I`m sharing the recipe on my website www.homewithatwist.com or comment BIRTHDAY and I`ll send you the link directly to your DM.

Take a pinch of ginger from a Georgian townhouse. Parsley from a Queen Anne villa. And a dash of pepper from your Swiss chalet!
Last fall, I set my timer for the launch day of the @lenox Village Spice Jars. My wait is over when they arrived this week!
Originally designed and sold in 1989, the set was released through a subscription model, with customers receiving a new spice house each month. The jars were meant to house the most popular cooking spices of the era.
Interest in the collectibles began to dip, and Lenox discontinued the spice jar series in 1993.
Lenox brought the village back for a limited time and includes 24 porcelain spice jars pastel hand-painted to look like miniature cottages. They go perfectly with my thrifted shelf from Lemons to Lemonade Estate Sales hanging in my keeping room.

Seriously. Which would you rather have - darkness at 4 p.m. or lose an hour, and you feel jet lagged for a week. Oh, well. It just means spring is coming! 🍀🌿☘️
