I’ve been making this Ina Garten recipe for Rosemary Chipotle Nuts for years. Miss Twist begs me to make them at Christmastime. Not only are they delicious to have out for happy hour with sips and a lovely charcuterie spread, but I like to make several batches...
It’s September! We’ve officially entered what’s known as the “ber” months! Fall is my favorite time of the year, and the best season for entertaining, in my humble opinion. This recipe for Cheesy Thumprint Cookies with Hot Pepper Jelly...
We’ve not been cooking much in our cottage during our time in Maine – there’s so much fresh lobster to eat! But we have made my favorite taco soup recipe twice. Not only is it good the first day – it’s even better on day two. It’s a...
Do you know what you can do with all those beautiful blueberries available in stores right now? Let’s think outside blueberry muffins, blueberry pancakes, and blueberries on your yogurt – let’s put them into a pie! I am sharing bestie’s recipe...
I hosted a lunch with my girlfriends, and I wanted to include an heirloom recipe from Helen Corbitt’s cookbook The Helen Corbitt Collection. I recall having her cold lemon soufflé on the menu at the Zodiac Tea Room in Neiman Marcus. I’ve never made a cold...
I learned about this fun way to serve ice cream from the Satellite Sisters podcast. They no longer run weekly shows, but you can listen to their favorite episodes, and on occasion, they will do a new show. When they shared their plans for celebrating the 4th, they...
Hospitality is in my DNA. I founded Home with a Twist, a daughter’s twist on her mother’s traditions, in memory of my mother to celebrate her life and the gifts she shared with me. Mother loved to celebrate life’s occasions – big and small.
She taught me how to prepare fabulous food, entertain guests with style and design a traditional home with a pop of color and a splash of animal print. Share my fondness of blending Mother’s mid-century style with a modern spin.
What’s one thing you’re doing this August to savor the season — or prep for fall? 👇 Tell me in the comments, and let’s start this month with a little intention and a lot of grace.
Hello, August - my birthday month! The month that lingers between summer’s glow and autumn’s hush. I like to think of you as a gentle invitation — not to rush, but to notice. To finish what we started. To gather what we’ve grown. To feel the soft shift in the air and make space for what’s next.
I’m sharing the little ways I honor this in-between season. Slide through and let me know how you`re spending your August.
✨ Welcome to my Ladies’ Lounge ✨ A soulful space designed with four guiding words in mind:
Cozy – where the light is soft and the throws are plush Colorful – pops of joy, in every hue with a dash, or two of animal print that make my heart smile Curated – every piece placed with purpose Collected – filled with treasures, stories, and sentimental finds
This room isn’t just for show—it’s a retreat, a gathering spot, a space to sip, read, laugh, and play (Mahjong anyone?). And mostly, it`s a warm hug.
I hope it inspires you to carve out a space that feels uniquely you.

🍬🍬Comment CANDY, and I`ll send you the link to the Candy Bar sign and the jars!🍭🍭
My candy bar table is inspired from my childhood memories of walking with my bestie to Mott`s Five & Dime to buy penny (yes, I`m that old) candy. We`d fill brown paper sacks with our faves and skip home happy as can be.
🍒 My top favorites are cherry sours (but only from HEB) Orange slices 🍊 🩷🤍 Pink & white frosted animal cookies 🥜 Peanut M&Ms Spice drops Peanut Butter Bars (nostalgia, please)
I found the vintage bamboo table @themercantilefortworth thanks to Tracy @storiedhomedecor. It`s the perfect size and gives me extra shelves for books.
All my candy is from @heb at $1.50 a bag it was great on my budget.
This is the final touch on my Ladies` Lounge ! Come back tomorrow for the BIG REVEAL! ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
✨✨ If I could sit beside that little girl — hair in pigtails, heart full of big dreams — I’d whisper the truths it took years to learn.
That she was already loved. That the quiet strength of the women before her lived in her bones. The table where she played, hosted tea parties, and make-believe at would one day hold stories, laughter, and legacy.
This is a love letter to her — the little girl I was, the woman I became, and the legacy I’m still living out. We are an unfinished portrait. Every day, adding new textures, layers, and beauty.
Which one of these sentiments would your younger self need to hear?
