Peeling Back Time
Feb 6, 2013 | Makeup And Skincare
On a recent visit to my doctor for a check up, I mentioned to her I was dismayed that my skin was finally betraying me with “dark spots.” I guess I’ve done pretty well if I am just a few years shy of my 50th birthday and have gone...
Hospitality is in my DNA. I founded Home with a Twist, a daughter’s twist on her mother’s traditions, in memory of my mother to celebrate her life and the gifts she shared with me. Mother loved to celebrate life’s occasions – big and small. She taught me how to prepare fabulous food, entertain guests with style and design a traditional home with a pop of color and a splash of animal print. Share my fondness of blending Mother’s mid-century style with a modern spin.

Comment VASE and I`ll send you the link to my new favorite vase. 🌼
One of the must-haves items for a host is having a variety of vases. One size does not fit all - until I found this one!🌸
The placement of the holes naturally allow the stems to stand up and keep the arrangement full. Think of it as the "frog" we sometimes use in an arrangement.🏵
And right now it`s 20% off and under $20. Makes the perfect gift.🌱
Nothing makes me happier than creating a centerpiece with flowers from my garden!🪻🌻

My dining table isn`t waiting for a dinner party... it`s living a full life every single day.
Interior designers are saying the days of the formal, untouched dining room are fading. Instead, our dining rooms are becoming spaces that reflect how we actually live—reading, creating, working, gathering, and surrounding ourselves with things we love.
That`s why you`ll find mine layered with vintage cookbooks, coffee table books, found treasures from antique shops, fresh flowers, and touch lamps that makes the whole room glow, even when no one`s coming for dinner.
I think a beautifully styled dining table invites you to enjoy your home every day—not just on holidays.
Your dining room shouldn`t feel like a museum. It should tell your story.
Do you decorate your dining table between meals, or do you keep it cleared off?
P.S. my pretty dress is from @shoplemoncake. Comment DRESS and I`ll send you the link to shop.
Comment BEAUTY and I`ll send you all the links!
As our skin changes so does our makeup. At almost 62 (in August, hello Virgo!), I`m reaching for makeup that helps make my skin look dewy, luminous and hydrated.
My most favorite out of all these is the @patrickta foundation. When my go-to was discontinued I did the research and landed here. It`s so pretty!
This is my full routine. The foundation that gives me glow. The contour that adds dimension without looking harsh. The eye brightener that makes me look awake. The lipstick I reach for every single day. And the finish spray that makes it last.

Who decided that every dinner party requires the good china?
Don`t get me wrong—I love a beautifully set table. Give me layered linens, pretty plates, flickering candles, and a reason to pull out the heirlooms. But somewhere along the way, many of us started believing that "real" hospitality only counts if everything is perfect.
I don`t buy it.
If using paper plates means you have the energy to invite people over, sit down at the table, and actually enjoy your guests, then use the paper plates.
The goal was never the dishes.
The goal was always the people gathered around them.
Hospitality isn`t measured by what you`re serving on. It`s measured by how welcome people feel when they`re with you.
So if paper plates make gathering easier, consider this your permission slip.
The memories will last longer than the good china.
