At 3:23 a.m. this morning, my sweet Daddy went to live in heaven. For the last four years, he has been my constant companion, one of my greatest joys (and pain in my side on just a few days) and a wonderful father. I wouldn’t trade anything for...

Three weeks ago today, I clipped a sprig of Dusty Miller from my front flower bed. I was inspired by a photograph I saw in the winter issue of Life Beautiful magazine. It is a spritual, inspirational magazine. Even if the content doesn’t...
She taught me how to prepare fabulous food, entertain guests with style and design a traditional home with a pop of color and a splash of animal print. Share my fondness of blending Mother’s mid-century style with a modern spin.

🦞🦞 Comment LINKS, and I`ll send you the shopping sources for my nautical themed tablescape. While a few things are new to me, most are vintage or from my party pantry.
Setting the table is one of my favorite things to do. But, I do try to make it "simply elegant" and do as much as I can the day before, so setting my table can be my single focus.
The shell topiaries are from Mr. Twist`s 60th birthday a few years ago. They`re Styrofoam balls with a variety of shells hot glued all over set on top of wicker planters. Then I scattered a few sizes of starfish on the table, with bowls of salt water taffy to nibble on after dinner.
The wicker pitcher is a Walmart find. I placed a mason jar filled with hydrangeas down inside it. And added a few pieces of blue saliva from my garden.
Let me know what your favorite thing is about the table. 👇👇

Setting the table - part one. I chose a nautical theme for my al fresco poolside party. Seashells, seagrass placemats, bamboo flatware, red, blue, and white. A lovely tablescape is a gift for my guests. Something to catch their eye and make them feel welcomed.
Nothing has to match. It doesn`t need to be new. My table is a small token of appreciation that my guests chose ME to spend the evening with.
Host with intention, not perfection.
