Hospitality is in my DNA. I founded Home with a Twist, a daughter’s twist on her mother’s traditions, in memory of my mother to celebrate her life and the gifts she shared with me. Mother loved to celebrate life’s occasions – big and small.

She taught me how to prepare fabulous food, entertain guests with style and design a traditional home with a pop of color and a splash of animal print. Share my fondness of blending Mother’s mid-century style with a modern spin.

🦞🦞 Comment LINKS, and I`ll send you the shopping sources for my nautical themed tablescape. While a few things are new to me, most are vintage or from my party pantry.

Setting the table is one of my favorite things to do. But, I do try to make it "simply elegant" and do as much as I can the day before, so setting my table can be my single focus.

The shell topiaries are from Mr. Twist`s 60th birthday a few years ago. They`re Styrofoam balls with a variety of shells hot glued all over set on top of wicker planters. Then I scattered a few sizes of starfish on the table, with bowls of salt water taffy to nibble on after dinner.

The wicker pitcher is a Walmart find. I placed a mason jar filled with hydrangeas down inside it. And added a few pieces of blue saliva from my garden.

Let me know what your favorite thing is about the table. 👇👇

Setting the table - part one. I chose a nautical theme for my al fresco poolside party. Seashells, seagrass placemats, bamboo flatware, red, blue, and white. A lovely tablescape is a gift for my guests. Something to catch their eye and make them feel welcomed.

Nothing has to match. It doesn`t need to be new. My table is a small token of appreciation that my guests chose ME to spend the evening with.

Host with intention, not perfection.

Come back for part two for the reveal! Tag a friend who loves to set the table!

😎😎 I`m in my June era! I`ll be honest - the summer is not my favorite season. Here in Texas, it gets super hot. The mosquitoes are big enough to carry you off. But - there are some fun things to make up for it!!

Like picking 🌻sunflowers, making yummy BLTs with garden 🍅 tomatoes, displaying your shell 🐚 collection, and hosting a nautical outdoor dinner party. 🦞

Be sure to subscribe to My Sunday Best enews, where I`ll share all these ideas and more summer inspiration. 💫💫

Comment PIZZA and I send you my easy pizza dough recipe. It takes just an hour to rise and can be refrigerated for up to three days.

Set out a variety of toppings and let guests make their own pizzas. You can bake them in your oven. We love our @fontanaforniusa outdoor pizza oven. It`s been so fun to have in our outdoor kitchen.

What`s your favorite pizza toppings? Mine is candied jalapeño, Italian sausage, basil and cheese!
