Mrs. Twist’s Guide to Thanksgiving: Make Pies Your Centerpiece!

Nov 7, 2024 | Holidays

This is a fan-favorite post from 2019. I share it yearly because it is one of my most popular and favorite ideas. I came across an inspiration on Pinterest in my quest to share ideas with you to prepare for Thanksgiving, and a light bulb went off!  Why do the pies...

Newsy Tuesday: These three ladies are making my Thanksgiving

Nov 6, 2018 | Holidays

I’m planning my Thanksgiving menu and since I am working more hours this year, I know that I won’t have as much time to cook.  So big news — I’ve hired out my sides and pies!  This is big because not only do I love to cook, but I love my...

Hospitality is in my DNA. I founded Home with a Twist, a daughter’s twist on her mother’s traditions, in memory of my mother to celebrate her life and the gifts she shared with me. Mother loved to celebrate life’s occasions – big and small.

She taught me how to prepare fabulous food, entertain guests with style and design a traditional home with a pop of color and a splash of animal print. Share my fondness of blending Mother’s mid-century style with a modern spin.

Comment PORCH and vibes will be delivered! I`ve curated a mix of tunes I know you`ll love - part nostalgic from what I grew up listening to, and some new favorites.

There`s nothing better than a cold drink in your hand, a sunset view, and a melody that reminds you of a memory.

Comment TEA, and I`ll DM you the directions and adorable sun tea dispenser that includes the sign to hang on the jar!

In the south, we LOVE our tea, and I think tea steeped in the sun is the best way to brew it. I added fresh mint to the jar to infuse while it warmed in the sun.

The BIG question - Do you like your tea sweet or unsweetened? Tell me below👇

🌸Comment SIMMER for two recipes - one for spring and one for fall - that I`ll send to your DM.🌸

Simmer pots are a fun and easy way to freshen your home using citrus and herbs from your garden - like rosemary, thyme, mint, and lavender. Just add to water and keep it on a low simmer. I especially like to do this on the day I am planning a dinner with friends.

Important: Never ever leave your simmer pot unattended or leave the cooktop on when you leave the house. Always check your water level and add more as you need to. Keep out of reach from pets and children as the water is extremely hot
