July 29th is National Lipstick Day! I love lipstick (and all lip products) because they can be so transformational. There is something magical about finishing off your makeup look, or lack thereof, with a lovely lip product. It’s the icing on the cake in my opinion! In celebration of this massive holiday, I’m sharing my favorite tried and true lip products at all price points.
Drugstore Category
There are some fabulous lip product options in the drugstore category. I’ve rounded up some of my favorites if you’re new to this category. NYX Butter Gloss has been a top selling lipgloss for years! It has long staying power and a large selection of shades. This iconic Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick consistently receives 5 star reviews on Ulta. This Maybelline SuperStay Liquid Lipstick is another fan favorite, and this red shade is recommended by experts over and over again (great to transition into Fall/Winter). This Maybelline Lip Gloss has hyaluronic acid for hydration, and is a dupe for a high-end gloss I’ll show y’all later (keep reading). Finally, this Burt’s Bees Lipstick has great Amazon reviews and clean ingredients.
High-End Category
The high-end category of lip products is easy to get lost in. While there are certainly more affordable options, sometimes it’s fun to splurge on a lip product for yourself or as a gift. Let me show you some of my favorites. Charlotte Tilbury is the queen of luxe lipstick, and this Matte Revolution Lipstick is no different. It is a comfortable matte formula that pairs beautifully with a gloss on top. Another great option is this Lancome Liquid Lip Lacquer for a long-lasting option. If you’re looking for a lip gloss to add some plump and shine, here are my favorite pics. This Buxom Lip Gloss comes in many shades and finishes – it will tingle when you apply it and help your lips look full and plump! This Lawless Smoothing Gloss has a beautiful anti-aging effect as it helps fill in the lines on your lips. If you’re shopping for something special for yourself or a gift, I would suggest exploring Dior and YSL products. What a lovely treat to yourself or a friend it would be to give a luxe lippie! This Rouge Dior Ultra Care Lipstick is fabulous and infused with hydrating ingredients. Another option is this YSL Rouge Couture Satin Lipstick is stunning in the package but will look even better on the lips!
Lip Balms + Treatments
Lipstick and gloss look best when displayed on healthy and hydrated lips! Lip care is important to prioritize and also has anti-aging benefits. Here are my top lip treatment recommendations and when to use each product. First, for summer, be sure you have lip balm with SPF handy! I love this multi-pack of Sunbum Lip Balm from Amazon. I also love this Lanolips Lip Balm from Amazon. It is extremely healing and perfect for chapped lips (hot tip: pick this up for Winter). Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is ultra hydrating. It’s great to put on before bed, or throw on any time of day for a glossy look that works overtime (I love the Vanilla flavor). This Kopari Coconut Lip Glossy goes on like a gloss but uses coconut oil to treat your lips. Clinique’s Moisture Surge Triple Lip Balm delivers hydration and a light wash of color and shimmer. Perfect for a quick swipe on the go!
