Our first 2022 getaway was to Covington, Louisiana to visit my mom and sister. We stayed at The Southern….a charming historical hotel in downtown Covington. For short trips, packing light is the way to go. So, for you I’m showcasing 3 outfits paired with black jeans and black boots.
First, I’ve coordinated a light blue packable raincoat from Nordstrom’s Rack with black skinny jeans from J Crew. FYI…J Crew carries many styles of jeans. I’m also adding a light blue crew neck and a pair of knee-high black boots…perfect for travel. For a little extra flair, I added a complementary plaid scarf and a small MCM tote.
For happy hour at a charming boutique hotel bar, black jeans and boots pair perfectly with a green checkered blazer from Mango. If you are into bag matching, a green cloud bag and a contrasting plaid scarf give the perfect style pop…just add a green and gold Hazen bracelet. “Make that a hurricane mimosa,” please!”
Looks like there’s a good chance of rain and a fun day of boutique browsing. So, I’m suggesting a bright yellow puffer, your black jeans and boots, and a bright blue crew neck. You’ll want to top off your vibrant rainy-day style with a Frances Valentine color-block scarf and a trendy Marc Jacob’s snapshot bag. And don’t forget to bring your yellow umbrella…of course!
