There’s nothing I love more than “hanging out” in New York with my son, Chris. And the icing on the cake…being there during NYC Restaurant Week!
Our first restaurant adventure was off the beaten path at an Indian restaurant in Harlem. For the ultimate in a bold print, we’re showcasing a Farm Rio statement-making skirt topped with a green linen shirt…tie it at the waist. Add Mephisto sandals, a rattan tote, a hat, and a necklace to complete a vibrant urban vibe!
After visiting the Museum of Arts & Design, also known as MAD, next on our foodie trek was dinner at Blue Bird London overlooking Columbus Circle. To keep your city style classic, I’m suggesting a black and white ensemble. Our Pinterest board features a Staud blouse paired with white jeans, and Staud mini-moon leather bag and Cole Haan sneakers…all you need to add is a stunning gold cuff from MAD!
Sunday morning, our first stop off the train was at Little Island…a cool new park on the west side of Manhattan. Rising from the remnants of Pier 54, Little Island sits on a site that has played a pivotal role in the story of the Hudson River and its surrounding communities. Every visit to Little Island is a reminder of the dynamic evolution of New York City’s waterfront.
Think about wearing all-white to stay cool and comfy “hanging out” in a city park. J McLaughlin gives us so many options with jeans, dresses, and crops….just add a pair of their comfy white sneakers, a brown leather belt, and a crossbody bag.
My last day in the city, we enjoyed dining alfresco at a quaint restaurant on the Upper West Side. Anthropologie’s tiger print maxi dress paired with a camel bag and Susan Shaw jewelry gives a sophisticated city vibe. Cole Haan’s white sneakers with tiger print trim are super cute and comfy….ideal for city walking!
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again…“hanging out” in New York is always an adventure…especially during Restaurant Week!
