I recently discovered this saying….“The proper term for senior women should be queen-agers.” Truth be told….I love this new terminology, and I love hanging out with queen-agers!
The best thing about being a queen-ager is….you have unlimited style choices! A great example of fashion-forward queen-ager style is a brown faux leather wrap skirt paired with a white sweater. To update your ageless vibe, front tuck your sweater (watch this terrific how-to video on how to tuck your sweater) and add a crossbody bag, large bangle, and chunky white ankle boots…of course!
Something queen-agers totally get is “style is not about how much you spend on an outfit”….a quote from Iris Apfel. One of my favorite style hacks is copying an expensive look. A copy-cat look I’m loving is a pair of khaki pants coordinated with an oversized white shirt and cropped hoodie. Just add tiger print flats, a trendy cloud bag, and Iris-approved eyeglass frames – ideal for any queen!
Speaking of Iris Apfel….she’s a one-hundred-year-old fashion icon whose style is all about expressing individuality. I adore her style tenacity, and I’m loving the selection of Iris t-shirts and sweatshirts from Etsy. I like to style my Iris sweatshirt two ways…with utility pants and black boots or with leggings and a puffer jacket.
Famous for excessively layering large bangles, another Iris saying is “more is more and less is a bore”. With Iris as my inspiration, I’m sharing some stunning bangles from Dinosaur Designs. These fabulous bangles complement the outfits I’ve styled on our Pinterest board….and I’m pretty sure they’re Iris approved! Check out her memoir Accidental Icon a unique and lavishly illustrated collection of musings, anecdotes, and observations on all matters of life and style.
Don’t you just love hanging out with a stylish queen-ager?
