I found this recipe years ago, 30 to be exact, from the Junior League of Austin cookbook. I love to serve it in the fall when I host parties, especially as a pre-Thanksgiving sip before we sit down for our meal. Here’s an idea for a fun, and unexpected, way to...
Fall is here ya’ll! If you want to make your home smell like cinnamon and fall then Snickerdoodle Cookie Bars are for you! This recipe was tucked in my binder so unfortunately, I don’t have a source. They are similar to the cheesecake sopapilla recipe...
We didn’t put zucchini in our garden this year because it’s a hearty vegetable that produces with gusto! While I like zucchini, I didn’t have enough recipes in my arsenal to keep up with the demand of a zucchini crop. But, I’ve baked a few...
Several years ago I discovered Ree Drummond’s recipe for French Toast Casserole and I love it! Miss Bee requests this yummy comfort food on Christmas morning, and pretty much any holiday morning you can name. I’ve also baked it to take to sick or grieving...
Summer brings a bounty of colorful, scent-filled delight from our garden. I am so grateful for all the rain we had in the months of May and June because it has yielded a gorgeous landscape. I will share my bumper crop Zinnia garden soon, but today we are talking dill!...
Hi readers! This is Paloma writing, and for those who don’t know me, I’m Melissa’s Social Media Coordinator. I recently graduated from Texas Christian University and I’m about to start my ‘big girl job’ in Corporate America. I help Melissa on the...
Hospitality is in my DNA. I founded Home with a Twist, a daughter’s twist on her mother’s traditions, in memory of my mother to celebrate her life and the gifts she shared with me. Mother loved to celebrate life’s occasions – big and small.
She taught me how to prepare fabulous food, entertain guests with style and design a traditional home with a pop of color and a splash of animal print. Share my fondness of blending Mother’s mid-century style with a modern spin.
Texas Caviar Dip - also known as Black-Eyed Pea Dip - is so healthy and delicious. Filled with fresh veggies, it`s the perfect Dip to take to a NYE party. Bonus - it`s good luck to eat Black-Eyed Peas in the new year for good luck!
Visit my blog www.homewithatwist.com for the recipe or comment PEAS, and I`ll send you the link in your DM.
If you`re like me, I keep holding onto Christmas decor I never use anymore. So before you pack up and store this year`s decorations, follow these helpful steps:
* Sort everything you used this year into zones. For example - Mantel, Kitchen, Tree, etc * Label bins with those zones. Set those bins aside. * Now go through unused decor you haven`t decorated with, touching each piece. Does it bring you joy and fit with your aesthetic, or does it need to find another home? * Bag or box up donated items and put them in your car for drop off. * Now take the remaining items that you are keeping and categorize them into your newly labeled bins.
Taking the time to do this now will pay off next November when it`s time to decorate again. Organizing your decor into zones makes it so much easier and saves you time. If you only have 30 minutes one day, you can pull out the "Mantel" bin and just do that one space. It`s much less overwhelming this way.
