Texas Caviar - Black Eyed Pea Dip

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can Black Eyed Peas
  • 1 can Golden Hominy
  • 2 lg Tomatoes, diced
  • 1 lg Bell Pepper (any color), chopped finely
  • 1/2 cup Purple Onion, chopped finely
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Cilantro, Chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Japapenos, sliced (optional)
  • 1 cup Hot Sauce

Instructions
 

  • Drain black eyed peas and hominy very well
  • Combine diced tomatoes, bell pepper, purple onion, garlic and cilantro.
  • Mix up all ingredients together with 1 cup hot sauce (also add jalapenos if you want it spicy)
  • This tastes best when made ahead of time, like 2 days before you want to serve it so the flavors can mix.
  • Store in refrigerator until ready to serve. Tastes great with corn chips or tortilla chips.
